question,
why do people post to group mailing lists about their social lives? is that just a normal thing. "here's what's going on with me...yada yada yada, i've been seeing someone for the last couple of months.... yada yada...."
I never did quite figure out why it was that people did that. i mean, are others really interested to hear who others may or may not be dating? and if so, why?
just wondering, mostly because i've gotten a lot of these posts from various people recently, and i've been chastized for not sharing my own current social standings. not that i mind hearing about other people's happiness. i often think, "good for them". i just wonder why people want to share. isn't it sort of personal?
i've also been told by a few people that it's good to share such information. perhaps i'm just out of the loop.
