So this morning at 4:51 am my mother went into diabetic shock and started having seizures. My father, as always, tried to give her orange juice but she was beyond coherence at this point. I called 9-1-1 and the ambulance came, she freaked out and cried hysterically becase she hates needles. She was screaming at them and making no sense. She just doesn't listen, she's stubborn. Even when we tell her she needs to eat, and take her insulin and her test, she doesn't listen. And then this happens. Her sugar was 9. NINE. After my dad gave her OJ it came up to 23. TWENTY THREE. She could have went into a coma or died. I KNEW it was happening. I woke up at 4:50AM and I could hear her saying her name over and over, and I started to get up. Then I heard him yell my name to call 9-1-1.. My mother is fine now. Pissed and resentful for us stabbing her with needles for a sugar IV.. but whatever. She can be pissed, what did she want us to do, let her die? Our dog Zoe would NOT shut up. She didn't attack any of the ambulance people, but she barked like a nutcase. I wish her bark wasn't so loud. On the upside I saw Laurie from high school. That was pretty neat. She's a volunteer with Plymouth Borough.
Well now for a second goodnight... And props for her being mad at us for the next week. Oh well.
