There's a lot of stuff I've been meaning to post. However... I don't know what I should post and how i should word it. Well... this thing is just sitting here wasting away, so I think I'll just post something interesting I learned in global.
Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down
Back in the Middle Ages, things were very unsanitary. It was dark and damp, animals freely roamed and shitted the streets, people threw urine out their windows, all kinds of nasty stuff. So of course, when a deadly contagious plague came around, it was easily spread and killed a lot of people. Little girls would get rings around their arms... Then, not knowing what it was, put posies (flowers) in their pockets. Of course this did not stop them from dying... but i mean damn. So this is what little kids are singing about in their nursery rhymes? Geez.
Another thing I found interesting... the start of biological warfare. Before the bubonic plague hit Europe it was in China. The Mongols were trying to invade some town... meanwhile warriors were slowly dying of the plague. They then sent deceased bodies over the walls of the town in catapults so that the enemy would get infected as well... Now that is just crazy. Smart, but crazy.
