Attn: Clinic Staff (backdated to Friday)

My name is Trillian, and I've been working on a teleportation system at Lemondrop Labs for quite a while now. I've managed to send through live mice, and I've been checking their vitals - they appear to all be going through and coming out in the same health they were in. In other words, no change. This means that I am now ready to test it myself ( Read more... )

Trillian,

This sounds like a risky endeavor, but there should be several staff members on hand to run tests. You should probably clear this with Dr. Andrej Koscuisko, as he is head of the clinic.

It's not as risky as it sounds.

And all right, thank you. If he doesn't respond to this message, I'll send him one personally.

Miss (or Doctor?) Trillian:

I must express opposition to your plan for human testing until others have had the chance to independently examine your test subject mice. It is possible that the tests you chose to run were not sufficiently specific to determine whether their condition was truly the same.

Please note that I am not asking that you discontinue your ultimate experiment, merely that you delay it for a time. Perhaps we could meet with your test subjects and examine them together? I am trained in neurosurgery of numerous hominid and certain non-hominid species known in my universe. This might provide additional data before you pursue hominid testing.

If you insist upon your experiment, please inform me as to the time so that I may personally be available.

(Doctor, though not of the medical variety, myself.)

I sent a dog through as well to test the size of the field, and it's not as though this is my first time working with the equipment - I'm simply rebuilding one I've worked on before. The tests were more to make sure that nothing in this particular universe was different from the one I left, and I'm satisfied with my conclusions.

I was thinking Monday afternoon.

I appreciate your experience, doctor. Nevertheless, a prudent scientist would always permit for a second opinion to reduce the chance of unforeseen error.

I fear your mind is full decided on this course of action. Medical support will be available Monday afternoon.

Koscuisko away.

It's been double and triple checked by myself and one Jim Kirk, but I'm afraid I've met no one else in the village with any sort of experience working on any teleporters, much less on these specifically. To most of my colleagues such things are science fiction.
