I tried to save a turtle today. I went back for him, but saw drops of blood next to him in the road. He was still alive, but didn't seem to have much life. I was a little unsure - maybe it would have been more humane to put him out of his misery (not that I would have been able to do this, really) - but I I took him back into some woods and left him there. I doubt he survived, but I tried to do the best I could.

This is from a few months ago. I think it's a brown pelican. Nags Head, NC.
