Twilight Movie

Absolute first impression: This movie is really strange.

Well, it's finally here... Did anyone else feel like the wait was more exciting than the film? I saw the midnight showing and I've got to work early in the morning, so... this may not make any sense. I'm going to see it a couple more times (hopefully) so I can better evaluate my opinion.

It seemed like the trailers went smoother than the movie did... it was very choppy. I was also NOT a fan of Bella talking about things... Just didn't work for me. Or the intro... If anything, I think it could've just started out in Forks. :/

For anyone who HASN'T read the books, I don't think you'll have a clue what's going on... Things are very poorly explained and explained rather out of order, than it feels rushed. :/ Hm, don't know how that could've been remedied... It seemed like there were too many "dramatic pauses", you know? Like, characters not talking to one another... but it went on just a bit longer than was necessary, which made people go 'Uh, wtf? movie?' It really took me out.

There were a few wonderful scenes that were close to the book and it was great to watch. The whole movie is worth it for those scenes... There were even scenes that were deviated from the book, but they just flowed wonderfully and made sense and I enjoyed them. The baseball scene was AWESOME and even the arrival of Laurent, James and Victoria was a nice touch.

I enjoyed the last interaction between Edward and Jacob, though I wasn't a fan of the ending. Um... what the hell Victoria?

YEY random cameo of Stephenie Meyer!

Some of the scenes were so... awkward that it was great as well. Just... awkward and funny at parts and it made it seem so much more real.

Have to say - the whole sparkling in the sun part was handled badly. That entire segway was pretty bad in my opinion. Take the original DREAM that created the book - my FAVORITE chapter - and turn it into 'Hey, lets go wander into the woods, it's misty! P.S. I know what you are - my family is different! I'm going to smash a tree and stand awkwardly in front of you...'

I don't think I'm a fan of Kristen's acting (Bella). I'm so on and off about Rob's. :/

Alice was AWESOME, as was Jasper... but they made Alice look DUMB. She's PSYCHIC and they made her look PSYCHO. The lines they gave her just didn't fit and they didn't explain her character well enough for anything she said to make sense - she just soundded annoying. (And they completely left out Jasper's gift, wtc). Instead of knowing things before they happened, she would say them right AFTER, which doesn't seem psychic at all, really. -Thunder clap- "It's going to rain! :'D" Um. No.

The Cullen's house was AMAZING. Edwards room was too small... Bella's house was wrong and set up wrong (these are compared to how they were in my mind SHUT UP I'M ALLOWED TO BE CRITICAL xD)

Bella's role was also kinda dumbed down... and they cut one of the big turning lines of the book. >_< It seems like they took a line from every other chapter and threw it in to make everyone happy. /le sigh.

Ok, I'm exhausted. I'm sure I'll think of something else. Overall opinion? I don't know... There were weird flashes and Kristen pissed me off. xD It was like an independent/indie film which I wasn't into and the soundtrack? Where was it? I don't think I heard any of the songs. Argh.

I need to see it again.
