It had seemed an idea at the time - Robin had been to the second island more times than he could count now, and he liked being part of the Dawn Treader's crew. The second island wasn't large but it still seemed like it should offer more possibility than it did - even if merely a different hunting ground. As fond as Robin was of adventure he was hardly going to go off wandering when he had signed up for a duty with Caspian and part of him preferred the idea of having the island mostly uninhabited - though there was always the chance someone had stayed over - the crew of the Treader would leave someone who had supplies.
But this particular exhibition had been planned for when there would likely be no-one about, Robin had not troubled Caspian who likely could have spared to him to stay behind for a couple of days but asking that was near as interesting as bothering another island acquired friend.
Robin suspected she only agreed to be contrary and she had thrown something at him while arguing but still he had secured passage on a different boat on a day the Dawn Treader didn't sail. It had only been after that he had secured company on this particular outing. The young Stark lord and his wolf and he suspected that not telling Elizabeth of this in advance was something he would end up hearing about later. Even on arrival he nearly goaded her into inviting herself along with an innocent remark, not that she wasn't welcome but after a brief squabble she declined to accompany them. Robin called her a cheery farewell, "Goodbye Captain Norrington," not even that title seemed to do much for her temper and Robin if he thought on it only provoked her because it was nearly as much fun as arguing with Marian but got him in less trouble.
As they made their way inland, Robin turned to Robb and briefly explained, "the strange shelf in the compound once gave us one of the recorded plays - it showed I had a daughter just like her. And since then we've done nothing but argue."
