I can't be there
Ian's service is Tuesday. I can't go. I have a big event at work (retirement party), which I organize, at 5 p.m. (and I have to be there in the afternoon to make sure everything is getting done). I'd never get back from LA in time. All of us who stayed in touch with Ian were invited, which is very thoughtful of his family and daughter to do. If it were Monday or Wednesday, I could go. They had to move it from a funeral home to the House of Blues in LA on Sunset Strip because so many people are coming (which is so interesting because I would go to concerts there and then drive the 5-10 miles (which would take 45 minutes on a Fri or Sat night) to his club in Beverly Hills to say HI).
I'm wracking (sp?) my brain to try to find a way to be there. But without completely throwing away my work responsibilities, there's no way.
