Topic of the Week: I love the idea of Roger and the Rev going to Godzilla movies as Eigger & Regor. You wouldn’t think of the Rev. playing in his study with Roger from the scenes of him in his study with Frank. Ok what is your named spelled backwards (real or username)? What is your favorite movie monster?
Thoughts and Topics:1. Ian's conversation with God. What kind of sign was Ian looking for?
2. Rollo comes into the door yard acting funny and Jamie and Claire realize that Ian was injured. He's like Lassie! Rollo trying to lick Ian’s wound. I’ve never had a dog to that. Have you?
3. Raccoon in the pantry. I love the comical moment when Bree through the potato at Roger. It is not a reason to hate her. I think it is rather funny and I loved when Roger asked is she got the bloody bastard who got his maple syrup.
4. What is it about Jamie that he can become comfortable with so many different cultures?
5. Do you have any speculations as to why Ian seems to be so out of touch with everyone and in need of a little fussing?
6. Brianna always thinks she has no connection to the future and so no one to think of if they were to go back. Why isn’t this true?
7. Jem & Germain getting drunk. Oh my gosh.
8. Echo of generations when Roger takes Bree at the MacG’s. Very similar to Jamie having Claire with Dougal’s men around. Roger just getting into it. Turn on or off? See I would think this would have bothered a woman who’d been raped?
9. How do you feel about the match between Lizzie and Manfred? Am I the only one who thinks they don’t really care that much about one another?
10. Jamie tosses his laundry in the laundry basket. Perfect man?
11. Jamie and Claire talk about the coming war and if Indians would have been better under British rule. Any opinions?
12. Jamie thinks the Dutchwoman killed herself and the children after the bandits killed her man. Jamie wants to know if Claire would kill her family which I cold never see happening. Do you think Claire would be able to continue if Jamie died? We know or speculated that Jamie would be reckless, but what of Claire?
13. Do you think Claire is being unfair to John about the possibility of John’s ulterior motives with Bobby? What about her suggestions about Willie? I think Claire’s suspicion has to do with the evil of BJR more than LJG. What about you? I think LJG’s character has been proven over the years, despite Jamie & Claire’s uneasiness, with John’s proclivities.
14. Claire mentions that John’s letters make her apprehensive. Why do you think that is?
15. Why do you think Jamie would leave Bobby to protect his family if Bobby doesn’t want to kill anyone ever again? What are your thoughts on Bobby?
16. Jamie remembers Murtaugh’s death. I really hated this part. I kind of hoped Jamie wouldn’t remember that.
17. Jamie will die 9 times? Does that mean in this book and the 2 to come Jamie will be injured and near death again?
18. Jamie has nearly died 5 times. Can you name them without looking at your book? Do you think anymore apply? They talk about how many times he’s been seriously injured but could it only mean how many times he’s come really close… like almost being hanged?
