This was a much better episode. I really love Marsali and Fergus and I'm bummed they haven't been around this season much.
I loved that Marsali was going to help get Murtagh out. And I adored Fergus being shocked when seeing Bree and Lord John at the jail.
Good Everything Richard Rankin. He's so brilliant. I know a lot of people love Sam. Me too. But Richard is the best I think. His speeches. Him talking himself into going back. All his actions and praying for the priest. OMG. He's so good.
Bad I have never understood the compulsion to see Bonnet but I could overlook it. But to tell Bonnet the baby is his???? Why!? That makes no sense. Yes, she's trying to give him peace of mind that part of him is left behind but what if that man doesn't die. CAN OF WORMS. I hate this so much.
Great. Lord John and Brianna. They are great. I loved Brianna telling him he's hard not to like. But John and Brianna going to the prison. John and Brianna being co-conspirators. They had to look like a real couple to anyone on the outside. John has to assume these women are kind of nuts because they are extremely different in comparison to other women of the time. John is great.
Right? And what we see of Fergus and Marsali makes me think they are awesome. I want more.
I hear you. I imagine a more tall lean black haired man but I do so love Richard.
Ed Speleers is amazing as Bonnet. I had my doubts but from the first moment we meet Bonnet in episode 1 I was on board.
YES! Why would you run the risk that Bonnet would believe the child you carry is his? This is insanity.
I'm not a huge fan of Lord John in the books and I really couldn't get into his books. But I really like David Berry. He's amazing as LJ even if he's not what I pictured. And he does give off that "impossible not to like" quality.

Yes, I thought Richard Rankin was really good in this episode. He isn't how I imagined Roger would look, so I've taken a while to get to like him.
Also the Bad - even if you haven't read the books, you know telling Bonnet is not a good idea. By the way, Ed Speleers is brilliant as Bonnet.
And most definitely John is great. He is my favourite character in the books.
