On actors and their political views

Out of curiosity, would any of you actually stop watching a show you really love, like Outlander, if you found out that some of the cast and/or crew had political views that you disagreed with?

I have noticed, since the US election, that some of Sam Heughan's, Caitriona Balfe's,  Steven Cree's, Matthew B. Roberts', etc., tweets, even when they aren't overtly political in any discernible way (to me at least) have been drawing negative reactions from some of their followers who voted for Trump. Which is fine -- people are allowed to have different political views, right? Except apparently, for these followers, it's not alright for Sam, Cait, Ron, Matthew, etc. to tweet anything that might upset some of their followers. And on top of that, these followers threaten to stop watching the show if Sam, Cait, etc. continue to tweet things they disagree with and that they perceive to be criticism, direct or otherwise, of Trump. They are also fond of telling/warning Sam and Cait in particular to "butt out" of US politics because they aren't Americans.

I find this baffling. Surely the logical thing to do is simply to stop following said individual? It's Twitter -- THEY chose to follow Sam or Cait or whoever -- they can also choose to unfollow them if they don't like what the individual is tweeting. I also find it very difficult to believe anyone would actually stop watching a show they claim to like/love because of the political views expressed by people involved with the show. I mean, I think Tom Cruise is a nut job who believes in and has said some really weird stuff I totally disagree with, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying (most of) his films. These so-called fans seem to have trouble recognizing that Sam, Cait, et. al. are individuals -- real people -- and that they had those Twitter accounts before Outlander came into their lives and that these are their personal Twitter accounts, not "Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser" or "Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall" accounts.

I don't intend this to get into a political discussion, I'm just curious if the personal views of actors or producers/writers involved with shows you like (not just Outlander) matter so much to you that you'd actually stop watching the show if those views diverged too much from your own. Flip side of that (I guess) -- would revelations about an actor's behaviour after the fact affect your ability to watch a show? For example, would you rewatch anything with Bill Cosby in it now that the rape allegations have come out?
