Scenes you're glad they left out of the TV adaptation
Jul 21, 2016 09:01
This is aimed at those who've read at least books 1 and 2 (and based on my poll, there's only one regular here who's not read any of the books yet -- so that one person may want to ignore the rest of this post!).
We've all grumbled about events or scenes (or even lines of dialogue) from the books that were left out of the TV adaptation but that we would have loved to have seen onscreen. However, are there any scenes that occurred in the books that you are happy/relieved that they weren't included in the show?
I have one from Outlander:
[Spoiler (click to open)]I am SO glad that they left out the whole "Claire vs the wolves" bit from the novel. There are a fair few scenes/events in all of Diana's books that make me roll my eyes, but that one -- I found that particular scene completely unbelievable. Even now, when I reread Outlander, I just skip that entire bit because it's just so ludicrous. So yes, very happy that Ron Moore and co decided to not have Claire singlehandedly take on (and down) a wolf.
Anyone else have any scenes they're glad didn't make it to the screen?
