Some Rules

A few new rules and reminders because of new fans.

For all of us who have read the books and are long time fans, we are going to have fans coming in because of the show and we want to be welcoming so a few new rules.

1. Book & TV Posts:
  • Keep Book & Episode Posts Seperate.
  • Label you books for the discussion: "Book Discussion: Voyager - Frank & Claire's marriage
  • Do not discussion anything past the point of the episode or the point in the book of the post
2. We are going to hit those old topics again. You know what I mean and if you don't:[Spoiler (click to open)]Frank vs. Jamie & The Spanking/Abuseplease remember they don't know everything the book fans know and therefore don't know about certain aspects of the story. Please be civil about the conversations but please have them. Also everyone has a different opinion so sometimes it is best to agree to disagree.

3. Please be welcoming to the new fans, some fandoms don't do well with the newcomers but Outlander fans are exceptional so I'm sure this is unnecessary but there I've said it.

4. You can always make a post yourself, though you will be queue for approval if you've never posted before. This is to prevent spammers from attacking our group. Once your first post is approved you should never be queue for approval again. Posting gifs, icons, topic discussions, scene discussions and anything else is VERY welcome. Just go for it but please post here. We would prefer if you didn't send people off our group. If you would like to have it on your journal as well, use the "Social Media" icons on the Visual editor bar and just used the "Repost" option. Once you post all you have to do is click that icon and your post here will be shared on your page. This has the advantage of keeping all the comments together to get Outlander fans all over to communicate with each other.

Also, if you've been to Scotland and have pictures to share... GO FOR IT. We love anything even remotely Outlander. And we are also here to share our love of Outlander and Scotland with each other and make new Outlander friends.

5. Please use the tags when posting to OW. We want people to be able to find your post. If you can't find a tag that applies you can create a new one but please pay attention to the styling of the current tags. If you have no idea what you are doing it is okay, I'll probably check up on the tags anyway but trying is important as this is how we will find posts in the future.

Use cuts for large text as well (this post was cut above rule 3).

Also, a large image at the beginning of a post is okay as long as it fits in the post. If you italicize the image it will have the border around it (click on the image and select italics in the editing bar). - this isn't required just wanted you to know it is a feature or the coding.

If you are posting more than one large image please put the others under a cut. Should you have small images that make up a larger image it is okay to post them together outside of a cut. I think anything larger than below may require a cut for part of it. ie:

6. If you are seeing CAPTCHA when posting this means you are watching the group and have not joined. The reasoning behind this is also because of spammers. We were getting all kinds of nasty spam comments once upon a time and have since opted for the CAPTCHA to prevent this.

7. From time to time we will discuss other shows because we won't always have Outlander to talk about. If there is a cast member show or something you think the Outlander fans will like, feel free to ask and we can always discuss whether or not we should have epic discussions about it.

If you have any questions or rule suggestions feel free to comment and we'll talk about it.
