First run-through of the second act of Children of Eden was tonight. Went surprisingly well, everyone more or less knew their lines, and I didn't kill the kid playing Japheth. That in and of itself means the rehearsal went well. This kid is just about the most annoying, self-serving, twit that I have come across in a while.
He KNOWS that since he learned his lines within days of getting the script, he is better than us, and has the right tocorrect itsy bitsy mistakes, such as correcting 'and any other animal that cares to follow' with 'and any other creature that cares to follow'. Yes, creature is correct, but animal does not change the meaning of the phrase. He is doing this constantly, and correcting the directors, and not understanding that stage fighting is NOT real (If any of you make it to the show, I am not acting when I cover my face during the fight scene. There is a very good chance the kid will lose control and give me a bloody nose.) Blah. Like the rest of the show, and the rest of the cast.
Got a bit of a shock tonight to realize that the people I have been spending the majority of my time with these past few days are all under the age of 16. They were quite shocked when we were fooling around, and singing Do a Deer...I started singing the beer song that went along with it. At that point I realized exactly how young they were. And they realized that I wasn't their age. Interesting moment.
I really hope that rehearsal lets out on Saturday early enough for me to go to Richenza's just because party...that would be nice...be around people somewhere nearer my age or at least emotional mentality.
BTW, the jury is still out about the microphone. They may not let me use one for my song...they think I could blow the speakers out...
Show should be good though...if you want tickets, drop me an email and I can see what I can do. Shows are March 12-14, at 7:30 and 2pm.
