Just because I couldn't find my purple funk anywhere.
*grins*
I had an interesting night last night. Ended up going to class, because I had all these girls to measure for a pattern I am making for them. So well and good, I went off and measured them. Actually drove my car there. I shook like I was on drugs, but made it there alive.
Anyway, after waiting for the class to finish, I had a one-on-one with my teacher to try and get this sword dance moving. Got a fair chunk of it done, too. The only problem is that because I have been with her for so long, She does something and expects me to get it straight away, which my brain is not cut out for at the moment. That and I haven't danced in two weeks. (the shame, the shame!)
So when I got home, I put on a drum solo piece that I worked on about a year and a half ago, but got rid of because it wasn't working. The end minute or so is really unstructured, as you would probably expect a tabla solo to be, but it makes it difficult to structure actual choreography around it. At least, it did. However, now I'm thinking that for the last minute I'm just going to pull out my best shimmy and shimmy variations for accents. People are always impressed by a strong sustained shimmy, and it's about time I show them what I can do!! Besides which, it will give me an excuse to a) perform something new at the Christmas show, and b) see if I can get a new costume in that time.
... Now to actually go and do it, instead of just talking about it.
