The absence of time

I seem to live in my own time zone.

Even my boyfriend agrees. He says that if I say that I am going to be X hours, he usually doubles it, and that's closer to the actual time it will take.

Which is kind of depressing.

But time just slips away from me so easily. I'm sure that there was more time when I was younger. But now, I sit down to do something and ~poof!~ four hours have flown by without me even noticing.

This is especially true of the internet. If I am not careful, I can lose hours at a time, just browsing the net. I am trying to limit my exposure, truly I am.

What I don't understand is how this sudden time shift occured. I remember being at Uni, getting there at 8.30, fitting in 1/2 an hour of computer time before my first class, doing 4 or 5 classes, and still having time to study in the library for several hours before trotting off home.

But now? I am lucky if I get anything done in a day.

(of course, it doesn't help that 3 hours of my day are taken up in travel time... but still)

*sigh*

Anyone know where I can pick up a time machine or a time turner for cheap?
