Who: The Cain men
When: January 9th, evening
Where: Jeb’s room
What: Talk of the birds and the bees and the flowers and the kissing
Wyatt wasn’t a fool. Jeb was avoiding him like he was infected. The Captain of the Guard did not go three days without seeing every member of the guard itself. He personally ran them through the training course every morning. (He needed to keep in shape, not get flabby behind a desk and unable to run to help where needed)
There were three shifts, and a soldier might be on one of the other shifts, but still he would see them.
Especially his son. He was dissapointed that a man who could command fifty people into battle, have them put their lives in his hands daily, would run from a confrontation. Just as dissapointed as he was by the whole kissing incident.
Jason had mentioned Jeb seemed intimidated by him, Jason. Only three of the bodyguards to the royal family had NOT been under Jeb’s command. Jason was one of them.
How could the boy… he’d say man, but he was starting to reserve opinion, run into battle against Longcoat armored transports and balk at one man?
And that was bothering Cain as well. That he considered this avoidance as dissapointing as the betrayal.
Eventually the boy had to return to his room to sleep and at least change clothes. Having access to Jeb’s schedule helped.
Which was how Wyatt found himself giving three sharp raps on his son’s door this late at night, still a bit red faced from the forge, and no doubt not smelling too pretty.
