Oh hey, look! It's livejournal!
Yes, I am still alive. I haven't posted in almost half a month because life has been too crazy and busy. There's a lot to catch up on but non of it is life changing so it's really no big deal.
Small highlights of the past few weeks:
-had a Memorial Day BBQ at our apt
-watched the Cadets Memorial Day performance
-celebrated Liz's 21st bday at Santa Cruz
-helped Liz get the Venturing Gold/Silver Award (almost the equivalent of the Eagle Scout minus the project)
-am starting to get motivated to work on my own Venturing Awards since I only have until Aug 1 to get them
-registered for hip-hop and salsa through the Santa Community Center
-registered for History 17B online through Foothill
This past week:
-blew about $50 (that work bonus sure came at a good time) at Bath and Body works this past week because of their kick ass semi-annual sale. I went with Abby after our staff meeting on Wed and again on Sat with Vanessa
-met and became friends with Justin's old friend/ex-gf from high school (Vanessa)
-went with Justin, Vanessa and Scotty to Ariel's work (Body Exotic) so Vanessa could get her nipples pierced. Justin decided that this would be a good time to get his labret done, too. I also ran into Doc Collins at Mel's Cotton while they were getting pierced.
-Vanessa helped me dye my hair this weekend. It's dark red/brown and looks hot.
-got really fucking drunk Saturday night with people. I think it was about the 4th shot of Jager that finally did me in but that didn't stop me! I'm a trooper. :-)
-cleaned the house
-got a pedicure for the last day of school/Parent's Day party
-had the wrestling guys over for yesterday's ECW ppv.
Yeah. There's a lot more but that's just the basic stuff.
I can't fucking believe that it's the last week of school. Last week was very hectic because we were trying to finish up a lot of lose ends so this week would run smoothly. Report cards were finished on Saturday and there are only a few more kids who need to do the Father's Day art project and card. I've been getting help from some of the older girls which helps me out *so much* and keeps me sane. It is very nice knowing that I can relay on them. We got 4 graduated from Beg. 1 (kindergarten) last week so they all need to play catch-up with the projects. Ugh. The seminars are wrapping up nicely too, so this really should be a fun and somewhat relaxing last week. We still need to drill them on graduation manners/behavior, get their good work files all figured out, deliver the last few seminars and make sure that the kids who aren't staying for summer get a lot of completions done so they won't be as far behind in the fall. Whew. And that's not all either. We still have more lose ends to wrap up and reports to write, too.
Busy busy busy. I can't believe that my first year of teaching is almost over. It's amazing how fast time flies when you're having fun.
