WTF
So I'm in the library...as usual meh
I didn't get a minute of sleep last night. I went from my bed to the couch all night. I took some sleeping pills around 2 am and they didn't do shit. Everytime I laid back in bed I just couldn't sleep. The worst part was I was really, really tired! So after lying in bed for an hour I would get up and watch some CNN (it usually puts me to sleep). Anyway CNN was interviewing 3 southern women that lived with a man that physically and sexually abused them their entire lives. One of the women was his wife and the other were his daughters. One of the Daughters ( who by the way is around 30 yrs old now) shot her Father a few weeks ago and killed him. I guess she just couldn't take it anymore. Even as a 30 yr old woman, she had no control over how her father treated her. As the interview went on, she revealed that she had told school counselors, teachers and even police: none of them did anything. I guess it was a different time and domestic issues were kept inside the family but seriously wtf! How can one man have so much hate in him. The man would literally put shotguns to these womens heads.
But the whole thing made me think about how much power men have.Its funny my boyfriend laughs at me for wearing skirts to get what I want. But to be honest most of the time the only power we have over men is Sex. Sure things have changed but theres still a huge glass ceiling. Not only in the job place but in relationships too. As I'm sitting here, a girl is helping her friend write an angry e-mail to an ex-boyfriend. Most of it is begging! ( I know its rude to listen in on other peoples conversations but shes seriously an inch away from me) This girl had an abortion, was cheated on and had her heart broken while she was with this guy! NOW shes begging for him back! WTF is wrong with us. We give men power, we really do. We have to stop letting unreturned phone calls and jelously under our skin. We have to stop letting men walk all over us. The second a guy hurts you its time to find someone new. Seriously I'm more guilty then most when it comes to these situations but it has to stop. If he treats you wrong he doesn't deserve you! On a planet of 6 bil people there is bound to be another guy out there for you.
