Back at home for the holidays. Running errands and chilling out. Trying to finish off my Christmas knitting.

Favorite character(s): John Winchester! Also Sam & Dean, of course.
Least Favorite character(s): Bella, Samuel Campbell.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): John/Dean, Sam/Dean, nothing else really.
Character(s) I find most attractive: John, basically.
Character(s) I would marry: I think marrying anyone in Supernatural is just asking to be struck dead so, um, no thanks.
Character(s) I would be best friends with: Sam & I could inspire each other to go on crazy, uncompromising missions together but I think I'd have more fun hanging out with Castiel and forcing him into ridiculous scenarios where he would just deadpan and be Cas.
A random thought: I've been enjoying rewatching this show so much. I'll be glad to get back to s5 when term starts again.
An unpopular opinion: This fandom is so crazy that I'm not really sure what qualifies as a popular or unpopular opinion - I think there are strong opinions on all side.
Canon OTP(s): Sam/Dean is canon, riiight? And John/Dean is, too, really. Yeah, my ships in this fandom are totally canon.
Non-canon OTP(s): the Winchesters/happiness (actually, not really, that show would be boooring).
Most badass character(s): John!
Pairing(s) I am not a fan of: I can't think of any right now. I find all the hater-ish questions hard to answer with this meme.
Character(s) I feel the writers screwed over: John. Posthumous information/views about John have been so disparate and weird. They just make him whatever's convenient good father/bad father, virtuous man/asshole.
Favorite friendship(s): Sam & Dean, Dean & Cas, John & Bobby.

I love all your answers, especially the John love. And I agree about the writers screwing John over. For the past four seasons or so, every single mention of John has been negative. Like, suddenly he's the most horrifying father ever and even Dean talks badly about him. It makes me so mad, especially since it just gives more fuel to the assholes in fandom who think hating on John is cool. Main reason I stay away from that fandom. I can't deal with people hating on John, I get ridiculously protective about the man. ;)

John is the BEST. The whole ~John never broke in hell~ thing was pretty positive but, yeah, the closest we tend to get to a neutral/positive reference to John now is when they say how similar Sam is to him - which most often actually seems to paint them both in a fairly bad light. Dean's completely flipped opinion on John just seems bloody weird a lot of the time though, I agree, ugh. I like him so much more when, as in s1&2, he's well-intentioned but not always in the right.

Yep, John is amazing. It really makes no sense that Dean would start hating on the father he worshiped so much. Usually when people die you focus on the good things and remember them as even better than they were. You don't suddenly discover all their faults and complain about them all the time. It's just bad writing because they wanted to make Dean more miserable, rather than give him some nice memories. Screwing over my poor OTP. ;)
