And up it goes, up in flames. It's the dawn of 1998, my friends. That glow off in the horizon, off in the woods? It's a mansion burning to the ground. Good riddance.

I never figured out how you survived that one, Wesker. How'd you do it?

Lannister, sir... as much as I hate this, I'll fall back with you. The RPD is no place to be. I can't save Marvin ( Read more... )

I will admit that it wasn't easy. It involved a good deal of running and fighting my way past Lisa Trevor more than once. I do hope I killed her in the final one.

Lisa Trevor?! But the fall, it-! Jesus Christ, you Umbrella goons really did a number on that poor girl.

And yet you wonder why I disassociate myself from Umbrella. Has the irony not struck you that if Umbrella were able to capture me that I might possibly be nothing more to them than another Lisa Trevor? About why I am concerned about William Birkin? Do you not think he might consider studying me a highlight of his career?

Birkin struck me as a dear friend, not so much as the kind of friend who'd turn you into a sixth-grade science project. But you know me, I'm bad at reading people. Even people close to me. Like, oh, say, you?

How is what you're doing any different from what you did to Lisa Trevor and her family?

William was a brilliant man, Chris. Make no mistake about that. He was, however, prone to be taken with his own creations. They became the most important thing ever.

What do you mean?

Work becomes more important than anything else. Geez, that sounds familiar as all get out.

What you're doing here. To the people here. How is that any different from what was done to the Trevor family?

I would not want to test which would win with William: research or friend. There have been two William Birkins here. One wanted to cure me. The other... was afraid of me some, I think.

I do not experiment on anyone for the gain of a corporation. There is a reason my research must go forward. My Leon and Chris are evidence of that.

There's no reason other than your own sick, personal gain for knowledge, at the risk of everyone else here. Don't try to act like there's a goodness underneath all the things you've put us through.
