Attention Students:
Let me first assure you that at no time are any of you in any danger during this unfortunate turn of events. At present the Gryffindors and Ravenclaws are free to return to their dormitories. The staff and I are doing our utmost to restore the Slytherins and Hufflepuffs to their respective House areas, but as of now they must remain in the Great Hall at night.
Potions and Astronomy lessons have been cancelled until such time as the lighting system can be resurrected. However, I must remind you all that Hogwarts is still a school, and as such all other lessons must be attended.
As a precautionary measure, I advise everyone to keep their wands close by at all times, and to not wander about the halls and corridors after sundown unless absolutely necessary. If you must, don’t travel alone.
Please do not pester the Prefects; they have not been told any more information than you have.
Bear all the above things in mind; I trust that we will get through this difficult time with admirable dignity and forbearance.
