GLaDOS is now in possession of two communicators, after asking the automatic handheld communications device dispenser very politely for a second one. Given her growing interaction with individuals face-to-face, she will be using one communicator openly as GLaDOS and another secretly as her 'human self'.
COMMUNICATOR 1 // USER IDENTIFICATION: the GENETIC LIFEFORM and DISC OPERATING SYSTEM (aka GLaDOS)
This communicator is used almost exclusively with overrides -- the only exceptions being when she comes across a user/communicator she cannot override. Although GLaDOS's digital voice is widely known and her text overrides are obvious (they are formatted differently to suit her own likes and dislikes), GLaDOS's human form, her face, and her human voice have never been shown publically on the Network (keeping them essentially anonymous up until now). Only very few people have seen GLaDOS's face (please refer to her relationship post to see if you have); all instances of her real voice and face are behind unhackable encryptions.
COMMUNICATOR 2 // USER IDENTIFICATION: 'GWEN OWENS' ('HERO DESIGNATION': APERTURE)
This communicator is never used with overrides, meaning GLaDOS does not utilize her powers AT ALL when posting as 'Gwen'. Because there is no technopathy interfacing that occurs with the communicator, she no longer leaves a 'fingerprint' wherever she goes and instead, comes across like any other user to individuals with technopathy/technomancy. Most posts with this communicator will be in text to avoid disseminating information about her human form needlessly and all privating/encryptions will be accomplished using John Connor's encryption codes, rather than her own.
'Gwen Owens' is the alias given to the Porter records associated with this communications ID -- 'Gwen' being the fake name John gave GLaDOS when they went to the masquerade ball together with GLaDOS as John's anonymous date. 'Aperture' is a personal nod to the company that created GLaDOS in the first place, Aperture Science. 'Gwen' claims to be a former sentient cyborg now made organic (hopefully explaining away some of her strange behavior) from a future earth very similiar to GLaDOS's version of it. 'Gwen' claims her ability is a form of eidetic memory.
