Why's it been so long?
Since I posted? Time just flies, it's true. Lilli's 8 months old, has three (almost four) teeth, and is just about walking. She can walk holding one of my hands, and is experimenting with getting herself vertical from the floor without holding onto something. scary!
Unfortunatly, as a result of teething she's got wicked diaper rash and is completely off her sleep schedule. I have *reluctantly* put her in disposable diapers for a few days, hoping to keep the max amount of moisture off her bits, and it does seem to be working. The sleep....oh dear god....the sleep. I bought the "No Cry Sleep Solution" book, and although it' only been a few days, I think I'm seeing improvement. I am a profound party pooper at this point though, since I MUST be home at nap times and an hour before bedtime. I kind of breeze into events and back out. *sigh*
SAHM-ness is going well, although it's a sharp learning curve from my former life. In fact, that's a good way to look at - former life, new life. Pretty much *everything* is different. I'm taking on as many sewing and crafting commissions as possible, which is adding to our income in a small but appreciable way. I have become an even MORE thrifty shopper/non-shopper. I am the return/exchange queen. I have made myself a written schedule of house/yard/errand stuff so I can feel like I'm being accountable. It's kinda helping. Some days I'm just happy to have got the dishes done and dinner on the table.
Being without a car sucks, but I'm getting lots of sun and exercise by taking Lilli out every day. We manage to find an errand a day, even if it's just to walk over for a playdate with another SAHM in the neighborhood. Or to buy milk. Have I mentioned before how much milk Shane drinks? It's amazing. I am *so* getting a cow when we have the farm.
