080808; YPSB Performance
Handover was kinda screwed. It's so different from the ones that we've attended before. This year, we fall in at the courtyard (as usual) but headed up to the Shaw Hall (with air-cons on) so that we won't sweat in our band uniform since Sec2s and Sec3s will be performing at night. I don't think anyone cried since someone just had to spoil the ambience. Argh, bitch.
Due to Handover, we were late for rehearsals for half an hour. So rehearsals started almost immediately once we reached the concert hall. It's kinda lao pok since there was only ONE freaking small (and old) elevator. Rehearsals was fine but I felt like puking all the time and Hong Jie just HAD TO tell me that he wants to shit -.- When Shuichi Komiyama told all the soloists to stand, I thought he meant stand up when we play our solos. I ALMOST DIED. I saw Conny and gestured to her the "crying" thing and she started LAUGHING -.- Joey, who was beside her, was being sarcastic by pretending to cry and using to the polishing cloth to wipe away him tears. Thanks a lot man, people. But thank goodness, he meant that he'll acknowledge the soloists by making us stand up first before the rests of the band stands up.
After Symphonic Band's rehearsals was Wind Ensemble's, so we went to change and gave out presents :D I think Siti's the only one who appreciates our subway cookie + cookies that I baked + dwarf + pink rose + letter ): Ok la, I think Hong Jie appreciates his dwarf since he stuffed it in his pocket and brings it everywhere he goes. Zhen Jie was boasting about his subway cookie la -.- Anyway, I still think that Zhen Jie's dwarf looks like him and everyone else think so too. He's just too stubborn to admit it.
Then it was dinner time and break time. I didn't even the packed dinner that they've provided and I only ate a Subway cookie, that's all. Anyway, that was when I started panicking about my solo since I suffer from severe stage fright. I was so nervous that I started crying. Thank you people for comforting me and giving me nice big hugs (: Conny, Eugenie, Michelle, Alyssa (Darling!), Victoria, Janine, Fiona and last but not least, SITI :D I can’t remember everyone since the tears sort of blocked my vision. I love you Siti, thanks for being so sweet and coming to look for me at the backstage. I love you Conny, for singing and dancing "I love you" just to me smile again :D I realise that you're really scared to see people cry huhhhh. Sorry for making everyone worried and had to comfort me even though some of you were also feeling quite scared ):
Finally, at 7.30pm, it's time for us to get on stage. While we were outside the Concert Hall, getting ready to go in, I was discriminated of my height by Hong Jie and Dillon -.- so I started hitting them with my file (which Zhen Jie claims was a lucky charm). Then Conny and the Wind Ensembles people came to wish us luck. Our repertoire was in this order: Irish Tune, Northwoods, Chorale and Shaker Dance. The moment I got on stage, I panicked (again) but I told myself that I'll have to "Do or die" so I tried calming myself down (and apparently failed). First two pieces were great :D :D We sounded so much better than during rehearsals, as a band and/or section. Then it was my most dreaded piece, Chorale and Shaker Dance. I swear my heart almost popped out and I was so nervous that I'd empty the saliva in my trumpet every other 5 seconds. I was telling Hong Jie "Eh omg omg I'm so scared, I'm dying." So he took out his DWARF and put it on the stand, saying "It's ok, it's you screw up, nobody will scold you and anyway, I've screwed up my solo already. So put in more air and blow out loud." Haha I actually thought it made sense since Conny promised not to scold me if I screw up :D Though my trumpet was already up on the 5th bar, I was kinda stoning so my embrochure was wrong and I was quite unprepared when I played the solo. I was like "Oh no, shit, I screwed up. Cannot. My holding note MUST be nice" and indeed, it came out quite nice :D For the rests of the piece, I "played to my hearts content" and it was fun. After Symphonic Band's performance, Fiona smiled at me and did the thumb-up sign (I think) :D Later, some other people came over and told me that I didn't screw up. Thanks, it meant a lot. ILY :D (though I really did screw up)

I know I'll miss going to AMK for YPSB. I'll miss everyone in the section, really. I'll miss complaining about wanting to vomit. It was indeed a great experience and I had fun with my section mates <3 Siti HongJie ZhenJie Dillon :D Woah, what a long post.

Siti: Hello, Siti the PYSCHO :D I think I'm gonna miss you the most. Thanks for being so sweet before the performance.
