The scent of Bronnley Lemons Soap first thing in the morning.

Discovering that I can get the train to my meeting this morning from a local station (I would be even more chuffed about this if I'd realised it yesterday).

Sennheiser PX100 - light and collapsible as well as hifi and other desirable things.

Noise-cancelling headphones!! Honestly. Sony do in-the-ear ones, with three sizes of ear insert. Expensive but extremely worth it. Sennheiser will undoubtedly do the earmuff sort too.

Seconded, but you might find these slightly disconcerting as you can't hear anything else. It's probably not a good idea to use them while walking around as you won't hear traffic, people shouting at you and so on.

In fact, if you play music on them while walking through London, it's exactly like creating your own urban pop video.

Sennheisers seem to last for ages - I've had my in-ear ones for a good five years or so now and I still use them. They've seen me through two minidisk players, one CD player and are currently being used with my ipod.

Do the PX100s hook round the ear? I wear glasses so can't wear those, but I'd like to get a decent pair of cans soonish.

They fit over the ear, and so far seem to be okay with glasses, at least with a certain amount of adjustment.
