This week's bread: a loaf of
Marriage's Moulsham Strong Malted Seeded Flour, v tasty, good texture.
Saturday breakfast rolls:
eclectic vanilla (I was initially intending brown grated apple, as I was anticipating having spare apples, but as the apples were missing from this week's grocery order, changed plans). Definitely think the vanilla extract is past its best.
Today's lunch:
savoury clafoutis with chestnut mushrooms and asparagus tips sauteed with garlic and onions and seasoned with salt, ground black pepper, and mace; served with spinach cooked according to Dharamjit Singh's recipe, and what I ordered as baby leeks, and turned out absolute whompers (maybe the babies of the leeks from the
Giant Vegetable Contests?), which I decided to halve and roast in walnut oil then splash with gooseberry vinegar, and maybe I should have done them for longer or higher setting because they turned out a bit too al dente for my liking.
