Widowed Queen Anne didn't and neither did Queen Victoria, in spite of her notorious prolonged mourning for Dear Albert.

But in other matters Victorian, I seem to have got myself being A Nexpert Academyk again in that field.
Besides the web articles I have almost completed - really only need the final polishing -
- which I may be turning also into blog posts for a body which gave me per to use certain illos -
- some while ago there was a call for papers for an edited volume on a Victorian-related topic upon which I have long had a thought of writing a piece, except that the way it was drawn up did not quite seem slanted towards the particular approach I wanted to take. But then there was a further call, as they had not quite got as many pieces as they would like, so I made a tentative approach and they seemed quite keen.
So I hashed together an abstract, and lo and behold, they are v keen indeed.
Now I have to research and write the thing.
