This week's bread: Elizabeth David's Light Rye Loaf, which for a recipe I thought was going to make up to a rather small loaf, has turned out quite large. (And Ocado are back to having fresh yeast, yay!!!)
Friday night supper: the
'rather vaguely inspired by Nasi Goreng' thing, with salami, and also seeing whether a dash of fish sauce added to the ketjap manis made up for the unobtainable shrimp paste.
Saturday breakfast rolls:
basic buttermilk, 50:50 strong white/Baker's Blend spelt flour.
Today's lunch: a savoury clafoutis with asparagus and Waitrose Woodland Mushrooms (oyster, shiitake, and king oyster), seasoned with garlic salt, pepper, and sweet smoked paprika (I had actually obtained some non-strong plain white flour to see if this made any difference: I think there may be an issue with my rather large tablespoon when measuring the flour: it was okay, but I'm not sure the texture was meant to be entirely like that), served with
buttered full-flavoured cooking spinach, and baby cauliflowers boiled in salted acidulated water and then tossed around a little in warm olive oil and lemon juice.
