What I read
Finished Jo Walton, Ha'penny and went on to Half a Crown (2008): the whole sequence as good as I remembered.
Which is not what I could say for the first in a series of thrillers about a woman PI in California in the 80s that I read back in the day and picked off the shelf to see how it had held up, and, readers, it had not, so gave up.
The collection Her Magical Pet: 'fourteen stories of women in love... and their adorable magical pets!', for the benefit of OutRight Action International, which fights for the rights of LGBTQIA people worldwide. Well, this has a new novelette or is it even novella length new Liavek story by Pamela Dean, worth the price of entrance alone, eh, my dearios?
Then I went to pre-order Kathleen Jowitt's The Real World (Stancaster #2), which is due out on 2nd Nov, but Lulu obligingly sent me a download link anyway, rather to my astonishment: it's very good.
On the go
Still Of Wars, and Memories, and Starlight
Up next
Well, still waiting on Return of the Thief, allegedly in the post; and on top of that, pre-order cancelled of ebook of Candas Jane Dorsey's The Adventures of Isabel - not sure what's going on there, the paperbook is still apparently a thing? Anyway, frustration.
Thinking I may reread Speak Its Name (Stancaster #1).
