Tuesday mornings bring tremulous anticipation

Jun 16, 2020 19:22

For the last few weeks, it has been possible to book Sainsburys slots, no more than 3 days ahead (Waitrose seem to be booked up for weeks in advance) and we have been able to book deliveries for Friday on Tuesday mornings.
There is still a certain tremor of, will this still be so this week?
And now we have the even more exciting addition of Ocado in the mix, which after for a considerable while not even showing me anything but that holding page that says if you are priority person, log in, if not, apply - which I did, and even though they never sent me the email, I am now able to access the site and delivery slots.
All this takes up time and mental energies, including thinking what needs to go in this week's trolley.

Am really not sure why anyone should think it necessary to defend the statue of George Eliot/Ms Evans in Nuneaton (in what looks like a really banal shopping precinct from the photo): threats from the Dickens Massive or the Trollope Posse?
