Wednesday has just been inhouse tech support (with some success, I hope)

What I read
Marling Hall was one of the better Thirkells, I thought - I guess it dates from a point in the War when there was a certain sense of all in it together, before all the Crushed Under the Iron Heel that comes on later. And at least one gets the impression that she thought David Leslie codslap-worthy.
Aster Glenn Gray, The Threefold Tie (2020) - agreeable enough but a bit slight I thought, not really coming up to Briarley, which did set quite a high bar.
The new Sara Paretsky, Dead Land. Very good, and led me to go right back to VI Warshawski's earliest days, in Indemnity Only (1982) (that long ago...), Deadlock (1984) (a touch second-album) and Bitter Medicine (1987, and actually #4 but can I find my copy of #3, Killing Orders? did I lend it to somebody?)
On the go
And on to VI # 5, Toxic Shock (UK title of Bloodshot, 1988).
Up next
Well, I seem to be sucked into a Warshawski black hole, but the new Murderbot novel is due early next week, right?
