The roundup thing a bit in arrears

Jan 02, 2020 17:57

Last year I read approx 211 books. I will not endeavour to categorise them or say which were the best. There may be a few not appearing in my GoodReads listing - it can be quite bad with rereads, and there may have been some things read for research purposes that I didn't log.
I think I managed to post here every day though there may have been a few rather short entries...
Places to which I travelled:
Bury St Edmunds (did not actually spend a night there. Given the enormous faff travelling there was, I think I should have.)
Chicago
Madison
Brookings SD
Sioux Falls SD
Birmingham
Durham (UK)
Glasgow, with side jaunts to Perth and Stirling
Manchester
Malta and Gozo
Cambridge (UK).
The academic side was a bit sparse, or at least, involved doing a lot of revisiting old material for various purposes and being Esteemed Elder In The Field. Did do one new thing for a conference that maybe I should expand for publication, if I could think where to send it. Nothing published except a blog post consequent upon an event I participated in. One meedja appearance and contribution to a podcast. But hey, have had surprise solicitation to keynote at a potential large interdisciplinary conference in the summer.
But the other writing still seems to be ticking on... This entry was originally posted at https://oursin.dreamwidth.org/3022917.html. Please comment there using OpenID. View
