I was going to remark that that is not so remarkable these days but given the runaround I had connecting to LNER wifi, perhaps not.
There was actually bread made during the week: the Collister/Blake My Favourite Loaf, wholemeal & white spelt + einkorn flour, turned out v nice.
Yesterday afternoon while we were taking tea and and a short break in the open air from our scholarly discussions, observed a most curious sight taking place on Palace Green. Somebody playing music involving one of those hollow-sounding drums in a hypnotic rhythm, and circles of - I think mostly young, multi-ethnic young people - dancing around in a ritual sort of fashion.
I was somewhat reminded of The Wicker Man, but one of the other participants pointed out that somebody was waving a Vatican flag.
We then established that it was some kind of recently established conservative Catholic charismatic movement.
Not saying this is quite in Christopher Lee invoking tne ancient gods of the fertile soil creepy territory but it did look and sound a bit spooky.
I am also, on reflection, wondering if there was any symbolickal significance to the location, or just a suitable open space.
