Interstitial day of minor niggles

May 28, 2019 19:57

In which I discovered that the Van Galder Bus apparently no longer drops off at the Bus/Shuttle Center at O'Hare (in spite of what it said on my ticket) and I was instead put off at Terminal 1. And after trying to make sense of the signage I decided to get a taxi rather than try and locate the shuttles and hang about on a less than clement day until the relevant one turned up.
And got a cab with a driver using his phone to plan the route which turned out to be a new and exciting longer one that I had not had the experience of before.
And going back a little in time, on the bus, as it had wifi, I was trying to catch up on Facebook, but as far as 'Most Recent' went I would get a few very recent and then posts from days past.
Discovered that there are other hotels with dining experiences a short walk away (now that the on site bar with food is gone), one indeed pretty much cater-corner. But oh dear Google Maps directions - no, honestly, just say, hop up the verge and cross the parking lot and circumnambulate the hotel until you reach the entrance, because I really do not think it prudent to walk along the edge of a multilane highway with no sidewalk. Really.
The food was not all that, either.
I did manage to check in online for my flight tomorrow morning and print out my boarding pass before I left Madison but was unable to check baggage online, sigh. Have to get up horribly early tomorrow, sigh. This entry was originally posted at https://oursin.dreamwidth.org/2929274.html. Please comment there using OpenID. View
