Weary, weary, weary

Though the travel was not unduly arduous: the minicab turned up slightly early and made good time to Heathrow in spite of traffic, slight hiccup at check-in when the self checkin machine wouldn't bring a luggage tag, but this was dealt with fairly expeditiously, going through security was fairly painless.
Flight was slightly delayed, but managed to make up time and arrive ahead of schedule.
Okay, was not prepossessed with the food - there was no facility to register dietary quirks/preferences, but I had forethoughtfully provided myself with emergency supplies from Pret.
The taxi driver at O'Hare had some apprehension of where my hotel actually was, very rare, though tried to persuade me that there was a bus I could take.
However, when I arrived at hotel - mid/late afternon - room was not ready WOT.
But all this on top of a rather insomniac night and early rising - am not entirely surprised I took a wrong turn out of baggage reclaim and nearly got transferred to an onwards flight.
