A most atypical Bank Holiday Monday

I.e. warm and sunny.
So partner and I went out for a walk: took a bus to Woodberry Down and walked along the New River at the side of the West Reservoir (I can only find this link to show the extraordinary faux-medieval pumping-station, now a climbing centre).
(In the course of this I tripped up and fell over and had that embarrassing thing of hordes, well, at least half a dozen, passersby rush up to ask if I was all right. I would be a lot better if they would just ignore me in such situations.)
On to Clissold Park, which was full of people doing ye trad London thing when the sun peeps through the clouds of going and sitting on the grass in great numbers. We saw the fallow deer but the goats were not in evidence. Also, swan with cygnets!
And then onwards to Highbury Fields: given over to agriculture, mainly grazing cows, until the mid C19th.
Thence bus homewards. This entry was originally posted at https://oursin.dreamwidth.org/2761840.html. Please comment there using OpenID. View
