Too muddy for alfresco adultery

This morning the weather was so lovely that partner persuaded me to go out for a walk, so we went to Hampstead Heath.
Maybe they were not the Houndz ov Spring, or maybe they were, but there were an awful lot of doggies being given their exercise on the Heath this morning.
Did not see the parakeets, did see one bird that I was unable to identify and a passerby also couldn't identify: it was not a sparrow, a robin, a tit, a blackbird, a thrush, a pigeon, a magpie, or a crow. It was, I think, some kind of songbird as it was the song that made me look up. Looking at this site, which describes the Heath as a twitcher's paradise I think it may have been a nuthatch.
We had intended to walk up to Kenwood, but between avoiding places where there was construction going on, and walking in too many muddy places (which, however, we did not altogether avoid), we got turned around and ended up coming out at the Well Walk exit, so walked into Hampstead, had coffee, and caught the Tube home.
An agreeable morning. This entry was originally posted at https://oursin.dreamwidth.org/2748333.html. Please comment there using OpenID. View
