Who they think they be fooling?

In the past few days I've had yet another couple of those SEO-touting emails.
As heretofore remarked, they are completely useless at parsing my website as 'Not a business': not marketing anything, not selling stuff*.
To go on with, to inform me that 'your website is currently not listed on the first page for your niche and popular keyword (Product) search' makes me wonder what they are looking for.
Given that several of the most likely search terms to find my website come up with it high on the first page (and one that doesn't has the unfortunate factor that a certain Michel F's work basically spams the first two pages).
Another one doesn't make the first few pages because, o hai, reviews and listing of my book on the subject take up that space.
This is so Point Thahr Misst all round that even if I were vending lovingly handcrafted artisanal sheepgut condoms - incorporating portraits of Queen Victoria or Mr Gladstone as an optional extra - I would pass.
*Not even steampunk Victorian vibrators or reproduction Edwardian nipple rings, sorry. This entry was originally posted at http://oursin.dreamwidth.org/2269387.html. Please comment there using OpenID. View
