Houndz ov spring are in and out the dusty bluebells

Apr 28, 2015 20:22

Had occasion to flaneuse across 3 Bloomsbury squares (Russell, Woburn, Gordon) to and from a work engagement, and spring is busting out all over, houndz ov spring b going arf arf and running madly in circles.
Splendid shows of bluebells all over the place, though not, alas, the wonderful woodland sight of great carpets of blue under trees.
Also noted, a sign for the Bloomsbury Farmers' Market, which is apparently an actual Thing, even if the image it conjures up for me is the probably rather ineffectual agrarian activities of those Bloomsberries whom Ottoline and Phillip Morrell took on as essential agricultural labour during the Great War.
As I recollect, in Coroner's Pidgin Albert Campion from the wars returning finds Lugg keeping a pig in a London square but I have a feeling that was further westwards.
I would guess that the farmers are not, in fact, based in Bloomsbury... This entry was originally posted at http://oursin.dreamwidth.org/2265751.html. Please comment there using OpenID. View
