Akademyk hedjog is beswozzled

This came through on an academic listserv of announcements (and I have previously noticed some rather, shall we say, odd items making it through to their postings) -

Calling for Entries for inclusion in the International Register of Prominent Academics and Intellectuals Volume 1, 2013-2014

I used to get paper spam in the post for things like that.

Oh, but this is SRS BZNZ (??):
Requirements for Inclusion:
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited university (first professional degrees are the first degrees in their respective fields and thus not equivalent to a traditional graduate degree. Holders of American JD, MD, and other professional degrees will need to supply extra documentation to show that they are capable to conduct graduate level research)
- At least five publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Three References
Procedures for Consideration for Inclusion:
- Submit a three hundred word biographical sketch. Include pertinent academic information such as degrees earned, major publications, and professional affiliations.
- List two or three major contributions to knowledge (theories, models, etc)
- Submit a passport picture (electronic copy)
- Submit a print copy of thesis, dissertation, or most recent monograph

To a hotmail.com email address, is hotmail even still a thing?

This is even more bewildering when one finds that it is being published under the auspices of Journal of Alternative Perspectives in the Social Sciences:
The original members of the Journal thought that something needed to be done to give voice to young scholars in the process of making a reputation and international scholars who are marginalized by the dominant center of Anglo-American Academia. Establishing a Journal with that goal in mind was the first step in the process of helping right what they perceived to be a clear instance of structural injustice. A second step was the transformation of JAPSS into a viable international epistemic community of scholars and practitioners who support the goals and principles of the founders.

Which one would have thought would be not entirely on board with the concept of 'Prominent Academics, and also perhaps less into the conventional markers of prominence as indicated by that list of desiderata for inclusion.
