Style over 50 in today's Guardian Weekend. And what do we notice about the predominantly lady-type style icons here (there are a few blokes)? That these are women who have rather more than looks and fashion to accompany them into their later years.
In fact, they are women who, whatever their fashion sense, possibly no-one would be particularly looking at if they didn't have other claims to attention.

I think we might reverse that and suggest that depth of character is reflected in individual style?
