Confluence of ideas

I'm (rather slowly) ingesting a book on London bohemia pre WWI. Today I came across the rather startling information that Wyndham Lewis had been educated at Rugby.

Then I thought, 'But yes! he was undoubtedly the Flashman of Vorticism/Modernism/etc!' (if much less genial than the GMF recension of that (un)worthy), and would certainly have roasted the whole of Bloomsbury in front of a roaring fire if he could have got away with it.

Even if he immediately starting growing his hair, wearing capes, and generally presenting an appearance as of Monsieur L'Artiste.

Currently somewhat brain-dead after a good but v intense (11 papers, one of them mine, plus conversations over coffee and lunch, followed by dinner) somewhat niche-interest colloquium (though turned out rather broader in reach than might have been anticipated).
