Technically, I could actually do NaNoWriMo this year as I don't have any burningly urgent academic commitments, though I do have an article to (not particularly urgently) revise and a long-comatose edited volume project in which I have a chapter seems to be stirring into life.
On the other prickly paw, immediately after several months spent nose-down in doing The Textbook: Now Revised! and Expanded!! one thing I don't much feel like doing is a project involving intensive writing, even if this would be writing of a very different kind.

I discover that we are now in
Movember is Men’s Health Awareness Month.
At first I thought this was a typo when I saw it on LJ's 'Writer's Block' question of the day (which was the I suppose loosely connected 'Who is the most important man in your life?'*), but a member of the younger generation of my family has a post anent it, UK version, on FaceBook.
So, it is indeed Men's Health Awareness Month. I realise that this is a serious subject, but am still tempted to create an icon that cycles the images of the dire results of wanking that I put together for a presentation last year.
I also think that calling it 'Movember' puts us picky types on high-level typo alert.
*Which a) assumes there Can Be Only One and b) surely ought to be followed by 'and have you exhorted him/them to health awareness yet?'
