while I would never claim that my personal experience makes me an expert on the subject, maybe it gives me a different perspective than, say, a lazy news reporter churning out cliches under a deadline or a columnist in search of easy outrage and reader traffic.

Abortion: faith-based pregnancy counselling centres found wanting. Evidence of poor practice and factually incorrect advice discovered following undercover investigation. While not surprised by this intelligence, I'm glad that there's hard evidence about how crap these 'independent' counselling services are. Abortion, say medical experts, is a pretty safe procedure when carried out in the early weeks of pregnancy. This is the official view on the Department of Health's NHS Choices website.
