The carnival, sorry, conference, is over

And it was a very good one - two final strong panels this morning.

Dept of people becoming like their subjects - tremendously entertaining and performative paper on the evolution of music halls from historian of popular culture.

Dept of being J Alfred Prufock (roll my trousers, yeah, baby): people I think of as The Young Entry introducing exciting young scholars of the upcoming generation, sigh.

This afternoon rivka very kindly took me for a tour of some of the sights of Baltimore, and it was a lovely afternoon for it - who would have believed that in November one might sit in the sunshine overlooking the harbour? A very pleasant encounter, all round.

Made a quick dash up a few blocks for a rapid look round the Walters Art Museum (it really was quite close to its closing time, but as entry is free I felt I would do what I could, and particularly liked the WunderKammer).

Have been spending a quiet evening on such domestic trivia as hairwashing and mending.
