→ flashforward, "luck in love".
The last episode of Flashforward was awesome, I just loved every single thing that happened. One of my favourite things was the Bryce/Janis scenes, I'm a huge Janis fan, every episode needs twice as much Janis as they have. And I ship easily, even though I still love Demetri/Janis (I'm a delusional shipper), and liked what was shown so far of Keiko & Bryce, the Bryce/Janis scenes made me super flaily.
And one thing, I am aware that Janis doesn't do dudes. I am 100% on board with that, they just need to give me a girl that I can ship her with, and stop making her be cute with the boys. Once they do that, I'm sure I'll hop on that train. Till then, it's now become a battle between two boys as to who will be the baby daddy. It's not going to be some anonymous donor from a sperm bank, not in my opinion anyway.
Janis: What?
Bryce: I've just never been surveilled before.
Janis: I'm not surveilling you.
Bryce: Feels like I'm being surveilled.
Janis: Well, I could split, if you just slide me Lloyd Simcoe's phone number.
Bryce: Okay. And what do I do after I get fired?
Janis: A girl's gotta try.
And right about here is when my brain started with the "they're cute, aren't they cute? i'm going to make you ship them." But so cute. I wasn't going to include this scene, just the last one, but it was too cute to leave out. And the surveilling is still cute later, so it ties together. I don't care if no one else agrees, CUTE. ♥♥♥♥♥
Bryce: Dr. Benford said that you came in while I was away. How'd it go?
Janis: She says I'm doing good. Not good enough to have a baby yet.
Bryce: You wanna have a baby?
Janis: I didn't... but then the blackout happened and I saw myself getting a sonogram. I was pregnant. I was totally crazy. It was like being in love or something. I don't know, maybe I'll just listen to the universe and throw the towel in on the whole thing.
Bryce: Listen. In your flash forward, you saw yourself pregnant. If you were really listening to the universe, you'd be trying to have that baby. Do you know how far along you were?
Janis: The sonographer said four months.
Bryce: The beginning of January. If that's what you saw, that's...
Janis: When I'm supposed to get pregnant.
I fail hard at picking just a few caps of Janis, the faces she does. Love them. Bryce has a nice face too. And so happy that she wants the baby now, would have been horrible if she got pregnant and really didn't want it. It was like being in love or something. Love that.
Bryce: You still wanna get pregnant?
Janis: Yeah.
Bryce: Then don't give up.
I heart Bryce, the optimist. So many of the other characters are against their flashforwards, and naturally he's going to cling to the hope of one where he's alive. But love it regardless.
Now the whole reason for this, not that surveilling wasn't super cute. This scene turns me into a shipper. Which is annoying, but fun at the same time.
Nicole: Smile, Bryce. Haven't you heard? It's the most wonderful time of year.
Bryce: What's this?
Nicole: Open it and find out.
This is pretty much the only time I like Nicole, these scenes with Bryce (friendship), the rest of the time she bugs me.
Nicole: It's a lucky cat. Maneki neko in Japanese. Depending on which paw is raised promises different things for your future.
Bryce: What does the right paw indicate?
Nicole: Luck in love.
Bryce: Thanks, Nicole.
Nicole: Don't worry.... You'll find her.
I adore Bryce's face when he opens the box and sees the cat. And I know Nicole meant he'd find Keiko, but the annoying part of my brain popped in with "or maybe - Janis?", and well who was waiting around the corner?
Janis: I'm not surveilling you again, I promise. I'm here on a personal matter, I swear.
Surveilling again, and still super cute. And she was watching him talk with Nicole, silly part of me likes that.
Bryce: How can I help you?
Janis: Do you remember that whole... not-giving-up thing we were talking about earlier?
Bryce: Mm-hm.
Janis: If I was to start trying now, what exactly should I be doing?
Bryce: First of all, this is for a prenatal vitamin...
Janis: Erm, that's all great. I need something a little more... basic. I'm actually gonna be doing this alone and the whole... penis thing is kind of a problem for me cause... I don't like them.
Bryce: Ah. You're... You're gay?
Did I mention that I love her face? I love her face. And not liking penises has shot right to the top of awesome things she's said list, right next to telling Demetri to be quiet, the grownups were talking after all.
Janis: I'm super gay.
Bryce: Super gay?
Janis: Yeah.
Bryce: And you need a sperm bank?
Janis: Yeah.
Bryce: I know of a good one. Cubit Fertility Clinic, there's a doctor by the name of Jane Parker. Just tell her I sent you. She's great.
Janis: Thank you, Dr. Varley. I really appreciate it.
Bryce: No problem.
If he hadn't looked at that darn cat again I probably wouldn't be having silly shippy thoughts, but he did, and those tiny adorable smiles take me to crazy place. But I do like my delusional ship bubble, it's cosy. Quite a few ships hidden away in there.
