our hearts don't beat in time with time....

"in this world, there are two times. there is mechanical time, and there is body time. the first is as rigid and metallic as a massive pendulum of iron the swings back and forth, back and forth. the second squirms and wriggles like a bluefish in a bay. the first is unyeilding, predetermined. the second makes up it's mind as it goes along ( Read more... )

wow, that's awesome about the collage. i wish i could have seen it.... but yeah, this book is along the same lines- just dealing with what his dreams about the nature of time may have been like during the closing stages of his development of the theory of relativity. it's written basically as a dream journal (documenting thirty different dreams over a two month period), which was sort of wierd to me, being fictional and not written by einstien himself or inspired by actual documented dreams, but so far i think it's pretty amazing. a review said this:

"as a whole, this tiny volume approaches the intellectual playfulness of einstein, who is said to have worked more like an artist- by imagination and intuition- than a scientist"

and i think that says it pretty well.

as a sidenote: the columns that i have read of yours in slug and lettuce are so great. do you think i could get a copy of your zine, or other writings you've done?
