Fascinating. I'd just been thinking about how my friends do appreciate my honesty. Of course, that makes me very unpopular with people who are trying to manipulate me, some of whom are more charismatic than I am. I'd rather be honest than popular though, and have always taken that stance, since childhood. I just can't be one of the ones who lets evil prosper through inaction, which i think ties into my honesty.
Also, I've come to decide that truth often clashes with sympathy and compassion; while I'm not a cold-ass bitch, I have very little use for those who live only for sympathy and compassion. I would rather know when I am wrong, and would rather have someone tell me to my face.
