Well, okay, it's just.. Loki, Rex, Perry, and Crane all really hate each other. Especially now. And all of them have done some pretty terrible things to me and I'm just wondering if I'm just trying so hard to stay friends with them that I'm ignoring the fact that I shouldn't.

I mean, you heard it, right? Rex said he injected me because my friendship with Crane was one-sided and he was trying to help me realize it. I realize that the way he went about it was pretty terrible, but what if he's right? But then, he also mind controlled me, so. I don't know.

You don't like what I'm going to tell you about it, Hayley. But you know I don't like them. I don't like you being friends with them, with the exception of Crane. And even then...not so much.

I'd really rather you not closely associate with any of them, but I know you will anyway, so...I will just be silent on that matter.

Oh, and just so you know? Loki's been way better to me than I think Dick will ever be, even when he's screwing up. At least he doesn't yell at me at every turn.

Why? I'm asking for your advice. [She pauses to take a breath and, when she continues, her tone is more controlled.] I'm confused and, for once? I want someone more objective than I am to tell me what they see. You're not really that objective, but you're a lot more than I am. I know why I should be friends with them, so tell me why I shouldn't, or it won't ever even have the potential to change.

Because you being friends with them isn't going to change them. Because I still don't understand why you continue to stay around those people who have hurt you before.

[Her tone is still level, trying to hold a genuine conversation instead of just being petty or argumentative.] None of them have laid a hand on me. Crane only attacked me before we were friends and Rex and Loki were both trying to help me.

No, it's not that. It's that.. okay, well, like, I'm not just going to drift away from any of them or anything, so if I decide to stop being friends with them, it's a big decision. And honestly? It might be kind of dangerous. So I have to know that it's worth it to stop and the only way to know that is if there's an answer to every concern. If I really have a good, solid reason. And I just.. don't yet.
